We all know the Virus has a distinct character that many people like which is part of its' continued success.
I think that to say anything can sound like a Virus with a few FX is absurd. Radias is more general and broader in the VA department and is hardly a Wavestation.

The code for Legacy Cell is based on the mimic of said instruments within Legacy Cell. Although, on the other hand, you could also say any VST that includes a phaser and reverb/delay FX could share a lot of sonic character with the VirusĪnd I'm sure your wrong. Whilst anything from Albino to Zebra can mimic much of the sounds a Virus can do, and can arguably sound better for some things, there's nothing that really shares the sonic character, including Predator.
But much of the standard VA stuff coming out of a Radias has much more than passing sonic similarities.įWIW If anyone wants the sonic character of the Virus, in a VST plugin, I'd tell them to buy the Virus Powercore VST. Although Radias is a properly unified synth with modern (read: better) features, and Legacy Cell could've been a lot more (instead of just a mixing engine for 2 instruments + FX). I find this comment doubly ironic given the subject line There are obvious sonic similarities between the Radias and Korg Legacy Cell, to the point where I'm pretty confident that some code share is happening.
